On a beautiful spring evening in late May, a number of law firm PR professionals and advisors attended the latest LFMP event to discuss the challenges of managing cross border PR from London.
Hosted by Baker & McKenzie, a distinguished panel shared their experiences and insights into managing global PR strategies, when at times, they have no or very limited on-the-ground communications resources. Discussion touched upon an array of issues including the importance of internal communications, the role of agencies and whether an agency can offer a truly global service, and the constraints that may be encountered when seeking to align firm messaging and strategy globally.
The main message of the evening was that there is no one-size-fits all approach to conducting media relations in multiple countries.
The panellists included Claire Gosnell, Global Head of Brand, Communications & Marketing, Clifford Chance; Will White, Global Communications Director, Baker & McKenzie; Jeyda Star, Senior PR & Communications Manager for Europe & Middle East, Reed Smith and Paul Deane-Williams, Director of PR, Towers Watson.
